At Number 7 is the Sagrada Família in Barcelona. Gaudí’s world-famous yet still unfinished basilica welcomed nearly 4.8 million visitors last year, making it one of Europe’s most iconic landmarks.

And at Number 6 is Europa-Park in Germany. With thrilling rides and themed areas inspired by different countries, it draws close to 6 million visitors every year, making it Europe’s second most popular theme park.

Number five, the Eiffel Tower, Paris. Construction of this iconic landmark began in January 1887 and was completed on March 31st, 1889. Today, the Eiffel Tower attracts 6 to 7 million visitors each year, making it one of the most recognized symbols of France.

Number four, the Colosseum, Rome. Welcoming the 7 to 8 million visitors annually, the Colosseum is Europe’s most famous ancient arena. In 2023 alone, more than 12 million people toured the site, cementing its place as one of the busiest landmarks on the continent.

Number three, St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City. As one of Christianity’s holiest sites, St. Peter’s Basilica receives about 10.5 million visitors annually. Nearly 40,000 people every single day. Its spiritual significance and breathtaking architecture make it a global pilgrimage site.

Number two, Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Paris. Sitting atop Montmartre, this brilliant white basilica offers stunning panoramic views of Paris. Loved by both tourists and locals, Sacré-Cœur draws tens of millions of visitors every year, making it the city’s second most popular landmark.

Number one, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris. Before the devastating fire of 2019, Notre-Dame welcomed about 12 million visitors annually. With its grand reopening set for late 2024, it is expected to attract a record-breaking 15 million visitors in 2025, reclaiming its crown as Europe’s most visited landmark.
