Where Every Border Has a Story
HGP World is a geography, politics, and map storytelling blog born from a simple but ambitious idea — explore every country on Earth, one story at a time.
How It All Started
It began on Instagram.
We launched a channel with one bold challenge: 195 countries in 195 days. One country, every single day, back to back — its geography, its history, its politics, its place on the map. What started as an experiment quickly became something much bigger. The series went viral, capturing the curiosity of thousands of readers and followers who, like us, believed that every country on this planet has a story worth knowing.
That response told us something. People are hungry for geography. People want to understand the world — not just its headlines, but its borders, its rivalries, its landscapes, its identities.
So we built HGP World.
What We Do
HGP World is a blog dedicated to making the world make sense. We cover:
- Geography — The land, the terrain, the rivers, the coastlines, and what they mean for the people who live there
- Politics — How borders are drawn, contested, and redrawn. Who holds power and why
- Map Stories — The fascinating, surprising, and often untold stories hidden inside maps
We believe a map is never just a map. It is a record of history, conflict, culture, and ambition. Every line on a map was drawn by someone, for a reason — and we are here to tell you that story.
Who We Are For
HGP World is for the curious. For the student who wants to go beyond the textbook. For the traveller who wants to understand a place before they visit. For the news reader who wants context behind the conflict. For anyone who has ever looked at a map and wondered — why does it look like that?
You don’t need to be an expert in geography or politics to enjoy what we do. You just need to be curious.
Our Numbers Speak
What began as 195 posts over 195 days has grown into a community of geography enthusiasts, map lovers, and political observers who follow HGP World for the stories that mainstream media rarely tells.
